Summer 7: Coconut Milk Shampoo
It's day 6 of 7 of our Summer 7 series. (But this is post 5/7 whoops! Expect two posts tomorrow!)
This series, I have focused on summer essentials that I'll be throwing in my suitcase in a couple days. By making my own toiletries for the trip, I'm saving money and keeping my family chemical free! Let's get started on this super easy Coconut Milk Shampoo!
What You'll Need:
8oz Bottle
1/3c Coconut Milk
2/3c Castile Soap
2tsp Vegetable Glycerine
1tsp Coconut Oil
15-20 Drops Essential Oil(s) of Choice (I use Peppermint and Tea Tree)
**Optional 1 tsp Xanthan Gum (Thickens)
(We tripled this recipe!!)
Instructions:
Measure out first four ingredients and combine in a separate bowl or pyrex measuring cup.
If you are using xanthan gum to thicken the soap, add the tsp into a separate small bowl and add enough of the shampoo mixture to create a thick paste. Combine the paste mixture until it is smooth and add a bit more of the shampoo mixture. After this you can incorporate the paste into your shampoo. Make sure to mix until all clumps are gone. At this point, you can add your essential oils and mix well. Pour the shampoo into your bottle and you are done!
