Quick Fixes: Homemade Dish Soap
Dish soap is something that I always assumed was harmless. I mean, we use it to clean our dishes... can it really be that bad if its safe to use on things we eat off of? Boy was I wrong. The average store bought dish soap is just a chemical cocktail.
I knew it would be an easy fix, I mean... how hard can it be to throw a few things in a jar to create a nice, natural dish soap? Not hard at all, and not too hard on the wallet either. Below you can learn how to throw this together.
What you'll need:
1 Quart Mason Jar (with soap pump)
1 1/2 Cups of Castile Soap
1 Capful of Thieves Household Cleaner
2 Tablespoons (or more) of Vegetable Glycerin
10 Drops of Citrus Fresh Essential Oil Blend
10 Drops of Purification Essential Oil Blend (Optional, but recommended)
Pinch of Salt
Water
Combine all ingredients in mason jar and top off with enough water to fill container. Vegetable glycerin is a degreaser and helps to thicken this soap up, feel free to add more if you'd like. This soap is clearly much thinner than the average soap since it lacks the harsh chemical thickening additives, but it definitely does its job well!
