Quick Fix: Wood Floor Cleaner

The best thing about making everyday products yourself is the satisfaction of knowing exactly what the ingredients are. Whether it is something that you are using on your face, for your pets, or to clean... it just feels so good!

In this case, floor cleaners are the culprit. I mean... have you seen that ingredient list?

Here are some ingredients in your average wood floor cleaner:

Caramel (Coloring), Fragrance, Dimethicone/Silica/PEG Distearate Antifoam

These ingredients are so unnecessary! As a pet owner, I'm not comfortable having my dogs walk around the floor after mopping and possibly getting irritated by the over-bearing, harsh fragrances in these cleaners.

That is why i'm sharing my favorite recipe for cleaning my hardwood floors!

What you'll need:

-1 Gallon of Hot Water

-2 Capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner (LOVE this stuff!)

-1/2 Cup of Olive Oil

-5-10 Drops of Essential Oil (I use Lemongrass, feel free to use what you'd like. Some i'd suggest are: Lavender, Lemon, Orange, etc.)

Pour these all into your bucket and mix around. Use as you would any other floor cleaner, minus the guilt. Enjoy!
